Shawn Alexus,
Psychological Thriller。My second read by the author。 Filled my appetite。 I gobbled this book up in about 2 days。 Five authors are invited to a writing retreat--Who invited them? Their genre is--Mystery。 Things start missing, the air gets thick between some of them, and then they find themselves wrapped in their own mystery。I like how the author distracted the reader with features of certain authors at the retreat and hid the culprit in plain sight。 It was an entertaining read。 Left me thinking: Psychological Thriller。My second read by the author。 Filled my appetite。 I gobbled this book up in about 2 days。 Five authors are invited to a writing retreat--Who invited them? Landree,
3⭐️⭐️⭐️I did like this book! I thought the pace was super good, and it was an easy plot to follow along with for the most part。 About 70% of this book was incredibly cheesy。 I think I would have bought into this book more if there had been more character development。 I also wish the huge plot twist was a little more thought out。 It seemed like the end of the book was rushed。 Overall, this is a fast read and is great if you need an easy and fast read。
Rachael Vrbanac,
UnputdownableI absolutely could not put this one down! I was caught from the first chapter and devoured every page。 I’m normally good at predicting the twist, but not this time!
Stephanie Shore,
I thought I had this totally figured out but man did miss Kiersten humble me (lol!) This was a fast paced and suspenseful thriller。 Wasn’t a 5 star for me but it was definitely a good read。
Denee Beintema,
Fun little read
Linda Khalil,

That sounds like hell to me and would not help me concentrate in order to finish a new novel。Then there is the other story line about the poor boy and the rich girl。 She is looking for fun with the working class boy, but she is too stupid to use birth One star for books I cannot bear to finish。 The story for this is so implausible。 A writers retreat for published authors that involves staying in a creepy mansion with total strangers in the middle of nowhere where you have to cook your own meals? Her parents characters sound like they were created by middle school girls and at their own parents。I tried to keep reading to figure out how the two scenarios would ultimately connect, but I couldn’t do it…。。there are so many good books and so little time。 。。。more
Becca Davis,
a page turner and a great plot twistThis book was amazing!! If you love thrillers, this book will keep you on your toes。 Literally could not put down。
Nyki,
Quick Suspenseful Read!KMod has done it again! Her newest release, A Quiet Retreat, is a twisty suspenseful novel that keeps you guessing all the way to the last page。 I love how KMod has utilized her own experience with writer’s retreats and what we “think” we know or expect them to be! The depth of her plots and he way in which she gets you from point A to B, will have you picking up KMod’s books over and over again! I highly recommend!
Erika Alfaro,
Great book! Almost a tear jerker (had to stop myself)。 Hard to put down!
Donna,
A not so Quiet RetreatAn author’s retreat with five authors to write in a quiet mountain retreat。 They don’t know each other yet。 Nor do they know the history of the house。 A good read, a fast read。
AWolf,
Quick read for a fall dayTwo or more stories within the main story。 All loose ends nicely tied up。 Interesting characters。 Nice touch with the plot being about writers。
Smitha,
1。5 starsThe one good thing about this book was the premise。A retreat in almost wilderness where 5 writers gather to do their work in silence。From here a believable, character solid story could have been developed。But somewhere, somehow it fell flat。 I wasn't impressed by the loose interweaving of past and present stories and their intricate bond at the end。 1。5 starsThe one good thing about this book was the premise。A retreat in almost wilderness where 5 writers gather to do their work in silence。From here a believable, character solid story could have been developed。But somewhere, somehow it fell flat。 I wasn't impressed by the loose interweaving of past and present stories and their intricate bond at the end。 。。。more
Theresa LeBlanc,
excellent suspense Remote location, interesting characters。 Twists & turns galore。 Things, and people, are not quite as they appear。 Very clever plot。
Chelsea,
A little "Just Married" meets Rachel Hawkin's "The Villa"。 I loved this quick thriller from Kiersten Modglin。 A unique plot from her about a group of thriller authors on a writer's retreat at a house with some history in the woods。 What should have been a productive week of work turns into a real life thriller。 I tore right through this one, barely putting it down。 A little "Just Married" meets Rachel Hawkin's "The Villa"。 I loved this quick thriller from Kiersten Modglin。 A unique plot from her about a group of thriller authors on a writer's retreat at a house with some history in the woods。 What should have been a productive week of work turns into a real life thriller。 I tore right through this one, barely putting it down。 。。。more

Brandy Reaves,
WOW! Who wouldn’t love to be in the middle of the mountains on a retreat with nothing to do but write? To any writer, it sounds like a perfect getaway。 To a murderer, it’s the perfect setup。 I’ve read every single KMod book, and they keep getting better。 Each time I get a new favorite, she publishes my next favorite。 All I can say is WOW! Well done, Kiersten!
Kimberly R ,
Awesome Read!Blakely and four other authors go to a secluded writing retreat。 Thirty years ago a murder occurred there。 Creepy things start happening and pit them against each other。 This was a thrilling quick read!
Courtney,
3。5 I enjoyed it。 I liked the pacing, the characters and the atmosphere。 I feel like it was a bit different than her usual books but I still liked it。
Suzie Armbruster,

WowBe careful what you say! Words。 Can make you love, they can hurt, and they will Kill? Sometime you have to wait。 Truth!
Erin,
Kiersten does it againThis is the third book I have read by here now and another one I just haven’t been able to put down! Must read for all
Lindsey Gill,
What a great read!! I have yet to be disappointed by anything by this author! I love how easily her books grab your attention from the first page and keep it all the way until the end。 I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!
Christina,
Good read。 Not mind blowing but a good twist。
Sara,
An enjoyable book but not my favorite of Ms。 Modglin's。 Loved the setting and the premise but thought it was slow furthering the story along。 However, the book was a good read and a fun way to spend some time。 An enjoyable book but not my favorite of Ms。 Modglin's。 Loved the setting and the premise but thought it was slow furthering the story along。 However, the book was a good read and a fun way to spend some time。 。。。more
Samantha Hrdlicka,
2。5 rounded up。 I found the twist a little too far fetched and full of holes。 Plus, personally, I wasn’t invested in the characters。 Personalities seemed to change overnight。 Overall I think it’s a good concept but I just didn’t really like the development and how it ended。
Nanette Mecham,
Great read!I really enjoyed this book。 Wonderful twists。 I had no clue who "done it" until the last chapter。 Thanks, Kiersten。 Great read!I really enjoyed this book。 Wonderful twists。 I had no clue who "done it" until the last chapter。 Thanks, Kiersten。 。。。more
Jackie Welcel,
This was good with lots of twists。 I liked the two different storylines and how they came together。 Some of the connections did surprise me。
